PTP Training joined sector leaders at the AELP Autumn Conference to explore the theme ‘Change is Coming’ — a familiar reality for Independent Training Providers (ITPs).
CEO of PTP Rob Colbourne OBE commented:
“We are delighted to be at the AELP conference today focusing on ‘Change is Coming’ — something we in the sector are used to.
It is great to hear Baroness Smith and Richard Parker highlight the importance of Independent Training Providers who deliver two-thirds of apprenticeship and skills programmes UK-wide.”
Kate Ridley-Pepper also addressed delegates, speaking about the transfer of the growth and skills offer to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). She emphasised the strategic fit with the Youth Guarantee and reiterated the value of the apprenticeship brand — not only as a route to employment but as a transformative opportunity for individuals and employers alike.
Financial support measures were also spotlighted:
- Employers engaging with foundation apprenticeships are eligible for £2,000 in support.
- Apprentices under the age of 25 who have been in care can access a £3,000 bursary.
The event underscored the vital role ITPs play in delivering skills, driving opportunity, and adapting to change.
