Midland Tank & Iron Co Ltd are looking to recruit a positive new member to the team. The apprentice will support the business to achieve its goals and growth for the future. Working with metals to create high-strength welds in 2 welding positions, using at least 1 arc welding process.

Duties to Include

  • Working on the shop floor
  • Setting up laser to cut blanks
  • Transfer materials into the fabrication area
  • Welding components
  • Forming on CNC press brakes
From time to time, you may be required to perform other duties as requested by your Line Manager, and whilst not listed above, these duties will be appropriate to the level of responsibility held and to the scope of the role as defined.

Duties to Include

The apprentice will be required to complete the following duties:
  • Welding and fabrication of materials using two different weld processes to enable a structural weld.
  • Inspect weld preparations, surface conditions and cleanliness.
  • Inspection of final weld.
  • Fabrication elements, including work on press brake.
  • Following Health and Safety procedures.

Duties to Include

The apprentice will play a key role in ensuring the business meet its key goals and targets. Liaising on a daily basis with other departments you will be responsible for:
