A learner supported by tutor Karl Jones, is celebrating an outstanding achievement after gaining a Distinction in Residential Child Care.

Reflecting on her experience, Tracy Webber highlighted the significant impact the qualification has had on her professional development and day-to-day role within residential care.

Speaking about the benefits of the training, Tracy said:

“The training has improved my knowledge, confidence, and skills in providing high-quality residential care. It has helped me develop a better understanding of person-centred care, safeguarding, communication, and health and safety procedures. I have also strengthened my leadership and decision-making abilities, allowing me to support residents and colleagues more effectively while promoting best practice and professional standards.”

As well as helping her develop new skills and knowledge, Tracy explained how the course enhanced her confidence, resilience and independence in the workplace.

“The course helped build my confidence by improving my knowledge and understanding of health and social care practices, allowing me to carry out my role more effectively. It also strengthened my resilience by helping me manage challenging situations calmly and professionally. In addition, the course increased my independence by developing my decision-making skills and giving me more confidence to take responsibility and work proactively within the residential care setting.”

Tracy also praised the quality of support and teaching she received throughout her learning journey, crediting tutor Karl Jones for helping her succeed.

She said:

“I would like to praise my tutor for being extremely supportive throughout the course. He was always available to help whenever I needed guidance and took the time to explain things in a way that I could clearly understand. His patience, encouragement, and positive attitude helped build my confidence and made the learning experience much easier and more enjoyable.”

Tracy’s achievement demonstrates the positive impact that professional development can have on those working in residential care. By successfully completing the qualification with a Distinction, she has strengthened the knowledge, confidence and practical skills needed to continue delivering high-quality care and support while serving as a positive role model for colleagues and those she supports.
