Performance Through People were proud to join learners, tutors, employers and training providers from across the West Midlands at the Adult Learning Awards 2026, recognising the outstanding achievements of individuals and organisations making a difference through adult learning and skills development.
This year, we were delighted to see two of our learners – who started with PTP on our Path2Apprenticeship programmes – recognised among the finalists.
Mercedes Green was shortlisted in the Adult Learner of the Year – Skills For Work category. While raising a child, Mercedes remained committed to improving her future, progressing from unemployment into a paid role within a school and beginning a Teaching Assistant apprenticeship. Her journey demonstrates remarkable determination, resilience and ambition.
We are also thrilled to celebrate Keegan James, who was shortlisted in the Transforming Lives Through Learning category and crowned the winner. Following the loss of his mother, Keegan took on caring responsibilities for his younger siblings while continuing his training. Through perseverance and dedication, he successfully completed the programme and has since secured a full-time role supporting young people, becoming an inspiring role model for others.
We are incredibly proud of both Mercedes and Keegan. Their achievements highlight the life-changing impact of learning, skills development and personal determination.
Congratulations to all finalists and winners, and a special thank you to our Adult Department for their ongoing commitment to supporting learners in achieving their goals and creating brighter futures.
