This course has been designed for all those persons that work at height, ensuring they comply with legislation and gain the necessary knowledge and skills to complete their tasks efficiently and safely.


COURSE OBJECTIVES

To provide the candidate with the knowledge and practical skills involved to enable them to:

  • Carry out a work at height Risk Assessment
  • Assess Safe Places of Work
  • Select appropriate and cost-effective Work Equipment

COURSE CONTENT

This course will include:

  • Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
  • Working at Height Regulations 2005
  • Falls from height – Statistics
  • WAHR – Hierarchy & Risk Assessment
  • Working at height options 1 – Safe Places Of Work
  • GROUP EXERCISE 1 – Safe Places Of Work
  • Working at height options 2 - Work Equipment
  • GROUP EXERCISE 2 – Demo & Discussion (Work Equipment)
  • GROUP EXERCISE 3: Risk Assessment/Equipment Selection
  • Selection of fall protection equipment (includes common hazards associated with different equipment types).
  • Practical assessments Theory assessment paper (multiple choice)

DURATION: 1 day

CERTIFIED COURSE:

Delegates who successfully complete this course will be issued with a certificate in line with the Health & Safety Executive directive
