- The action to be taken upon hearing the alarm
- The procedures for alerting members of the public including, where appropriate, directing them to exits
- The arrangements for calling the Fire Brigade
- The evacuation procedure of the work place to an assembly point at a place of safety
- The location and use of fire fighting equipment
- How to open all escape routes
- The importance of keeping fire doors closed
- How to stop machines and processors and isolate power supplies, where appropriate
