Introduction

This qualification has been developed in association with People 1st, the Sector Skills Council for Hospitality, Leisure, Travel and Tourism and is based on the national occupational standards for the industry.

For Whom

This qualification is aimed at those working or who are seeking to start a career in drinks service. It can be taken whilst in the workplace to allow hands on experience as you train. It develops skills for serving all types of drink in a professional and customer focussed environment.

What will I Learn?

Within this qualification you will learn; Health & Safety within the Bar and Cellar environment, Information on the Industry and legal requirements to be followed when serving beverages. You will also learn how to apply workplace skills, maintaining a safe, hygienic and secure working environment and working effectively as part of the Hospitality team.

This could be in more mainstream restaurants or in some parts of public sector catering.

What will I Learn?

Introduction

The EDI Level 2 Diploma in Housekeeping has been developed to guide and assess learners' knowledge, understanding and skills of working in the role of Housekeeper/ Domestic help.

To achieve the Diploma learners must demonstrate competence when working in a real hospitality workplace. The qualification covers leadership, working relationships, customer service, resource control, and health, safety and hygiene. In addition, a range of optional units are available in the following areas: food production, food service, drinks service, management of functions, housekeeping, portering and concierge, reception and reservations and bookings, as well as generic management responsibilities and customer service.
