Certificate for the Children's and Young Peoples Workforce Level 2
Introduction
The Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People's Workforce is for learners who wish to work in the Children and Young People's workforce. It is the only QCF Level 2 qualification conferring occupational competence for the Children and Young People's Workforce.
For Whom
The Certificate will guide and assess development of knowledge and skills relating to Early Learning and Childcare workforces. Where appropriate, it also confirms competence in these areas and serves as the required qualification for all new practitioners for registration and regulatory requirements in the sector.
What will I Learn?
Subject areas within this qualification include:
- Introduction to communication in children's and young people's settings
- Introduction to personal development in children's and young people's settings
- Introduction to equality and inclusion in children's and young people's settings
- Child and young person development
- Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people
In addition, optional units will be chosen to complete the qualification in line with your job role.

How long will it take?
It will take a maximum of 12 months
Entry Requirements
There are no minimum levels of previous qualifications required.
What Support Will I Receive?
You will be appointed a Training Adviser whose role it is to guide you through your programme by providing one to one, tuition and supporting you in your workplace. Regular Review Meetings will take place with you and your direct line manager so that we can ensure you are receiving the kind of development, motivation and well being that you need to have to help you achieve your nationally recognised qualification.

Diploma for the Children's and Young Peoples Workforce Level 3
Introduction
The Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce is for learners who wish to work in the Children and Young People's Workforce. This qualification will be the only Level 3 QCF qualification that will confer occupational competence for the Children and Young People's Workforce.
The Level 3 Diploma meets the requirements and will form part of the Children's Workforce Development Council (CWDC) Qualification List for the Early Years Register.
