Intermediate Apprenticeship in Performing Engineering Operations
Introduction
A qualification designed to cover the fundamental skills and knowledge common to all engineering practices. It Includes health and safety requirements and communicating engineering information. Offering an extensive choice and flexibility for learners to demonstrate competence in one or more of a broad variety of engineering activities. Catering for those providing technical support, including project planning and contributing to business improvement. This qualification is the basis for all higher level engineering qualifications.
For Whom
- Employees in engineering requiring additional engineering competencies as part of an existing job role or to enable career progression
- Anyone seeking to acquire engineering competencies enabling progression to the workplace/employment
How is the apprenticeship structured?
To successfully achieve this Apprenticeship the following components must be completed:
- Occupation based qualification in Performing Engineering Operations Level 2
- Transferrable Skills in Math & English (if applicable)
- Knowledge based qualification in Performing Engineering Operations
- Personal Learning & Thinking Skills
- Employer Rights and Responsibilities (if applicable)
These components create the framework for the Apprenticeship, for each component you will receive continual support from your training adviser.
What will I Learn?
This qualification is based around Engineering Practices in which individuals are required to complete all three mandatory assessment routes, plus the required number of optional assessment route(s). Within this qualification you will cover specific topics to complete the qualification in line with your job role. These will include:
- Producing mechanical engineering drawings using a CAD system
- Preparing and using lathes
- Preparing and using milling machines

How long will it take?
It will take a maximum of 12 months
Entry Requirements
A reasonable level of maths is required and applications should ideally be working at or have achieved a level 1.
What Support Will I Receive?
You will be appointed a Training Adviser whose role it is to guide you through your programme by providing one to one, tuition and supporting you in your workplace. Regular Review Meetings will take place with you and your direct line manager so that we can ensure you are receiving the kind of development, motivation and well being that you need to have to help you achieve your nationally recognised qualification. You will receive a full induction for approximately 6 weeks and regular tuition at our Enginnering workshop.

Diploma in Engineering Maintenance Level 3
Introduction

How is the apprenticeship structured?

- Transferrable Skills in Math & English (if applicable)
- Knowledge based qualification in Performing Engineering Maintenance
- Employer Rights and Responsibilities (if applicable)

What will I Learn?
The qualification comprises of different pathways dependent on an individual's job role. From the chosen pathway, individuals are required to complete all four mandatory units and then choose optional units to complete the framework of their qualification in line with the functions of the position. The mandatory units within this qualification are:
- Complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements
- Using engineering drawings and documents in maintenance activities
- Working efficiently and effectively in engineering
- Handing over and confirming completion of maintenance activities

There are no minimum levels of previous qualifications required but you must be in a suitable job role to complete the assignments.
