Intermediate Apprenticeship Cleaning and Support Services Skills
Introduction
This particular course is designed to inform you how to effectively undertake all different forms of cleaning services. Included within this will be Office cleaning, Retail cleaning, Motor Vehicle cleaning, Hotels and Residential Home cleaning, High Risk area cleaning, Public Areas cleaning.
For Whom
The Intermediate Apprenticeship in Cleaning and Support Services Skills is aimed at new entrants in the cleaning industry or at experienced workers who do not yet have a qualification recognised within the industry. This qualification is particularly appropriate for people whose role includes one or more of the following; the cleaning of building interiors and exteriors, highways and land, carpets and floors, food premises, passenger transport vehicles or caretaking
How is the apprenticeship structured?
To successfully achieve this Apprenticeship the following components must be completed:
- Occupation based qualification in Cleaning & Support Services Level 2
- Transferrable Skills in Math & English (if applicable)
- Knowledge based qualification in Cleaning & Support Services
- Personal Learning & Thinking Skills
- Employer Rights and Responsibilities (if applicable)
These components create the framework for the Apprenticeship, for each component you will receive continual support from your training adviser.
What will I Learn?
The Certificate in Cleaning and Support Services offers an up-to-date qualification that is in line with industry needs and presents an opportunity for individuals to progress onto the Certificate in Cleaning Service Supervision or Diploma in Cleaning and Support Services.
Two of the most important areas this qualification will focus upon will be Health & Safety and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH). You have to be able to work on your own initiative, or within a team. You will need to demonstrate correct cleaning procedures for your particular job role/s.

There are no minimum levels of previous qualifications required.
How long will it take?
It will take a maximum of 12 months
What Support Will I Receive?
You will be appointed a Training Adviser whose role it is to guide you through your programme by providing one to one, tuition and supporting you in your workplace. Regular Review Meetings will take place with you and your direct line manager so that we can ensure you are receiving the kind of development, motivation and well being that you need to have to help you achieve your nationally recognised qualification.

Advanced Apprenticeship in Cleaning Service Supervision
Introduction
The Advanced Apprenticeship in Cleaning Service Supervision has been developed to guide and assess learners' knowledge, understanding and skills of cleaning supervision.
For Whom
This qualification is aimed at candidates who are progressing into supervisory, team leading or management roles within the cleaning industry. This qualification is particularly appropriate for people whose role includes one or more of the following: supervising staff, health and safety, customer service, recruitment of staff, controlling cleaning resources and training cleaning staff.
To successfully achieve this Apprenticeship the following components must be completed:
- Occupation based qualification in Cleaning Support Supervision Level 3
- Transferrable Skills in Math & English (if applicable)
- Knowledge based qualification in Cleaning Support Supervision
- Personal Learning & Thinking Skills
- Employer Rights and Responsibilities (if applicable)
What will I Learn?
This qualification supports the cleaning and support services industry to ensure the present and future capability and competence of its people. Learners completing this qualification will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to work in a supervisory position within the cleaning and support services industry. They will also have a broad experience of the industry and will have gained skills that are transferable to other vocations. You will be required to fully understand all the systems and best practice in cleaning, as well as understand and produce Risk Assessments for your areas of work, monitor and solve customer problems both internally and externally, and supervise staff and their performance.
